NISA | Nordic International Studies Association is operating for over 25 years and aimed at supporting academic research and promotion of cooperation among academics specialised in the field of international studies in the Nordic countries.
At the ISA conference in San Francisco, USA, NISA sponsored two great panels organized by the editors of Cooperation and Conflict (Annika Björkdahl, Martin Hall and Ted Svensson), The Micropolitics of IR: Everyday Aspects of Global Politics and Everyday IR: From Distant Abstractions to Situated Knowledge. The panels were presenting and discussing articles that will appear in a forthcoming special issue of the journal.
In San Francisco, NISA hosted a reception that gathered a big crowd of Nordic and international scholars. At the reception, we marked the change of the NISA Presidency from Finland, Tuomas Forsberg, to Norway, Nina Græger. We also announced that NISA will sponsor a new award for the best review of an article published in Cooperation and Conflict, the Best Review Prize (for more information, see Awards).
